Easy Trace does not operate with degree coordinates and will not. You vectorize maps for a GIS, and it is a task of the target system to position the image in the desirable coordinate system.
Easy Trace is and universal vectorizer designed both for Russia and foreign countries. So, we do not try to support different projection. We just “extract” vector from the image – quickly, neatly and at low cost.
If you work in a non-rectangular coordinate system, position the image in your GIS and then “feed” it to Easy Trace together with the registration (positioning) file.
For quick test, vectorize the frame of the map sheet and export it to your GIS. If everything OK, proceed with vectorizing.
It is most convenient to fulfill positioning of standard (“nomenclature”) map sheets in “Panorama” – available in Internet. I am all against cracked versions but this is a special case as the GIS was created at the expense of tax-payers. Let it be useful at least…
Coordinate positioning of standard map sheets is integrated into “Panorama”.

Example of standard map sheet positioning
See: ftp://ftp.easytrace.com/other/et_raster_binding.rar for detail description of map sheet positioning and preparing for further vectorizing.
We applied this sequence of operations in one of our recent (2008) projects.
Description of color topographic map preparing for automatic vectorizing will be added within a week. It illustrates processing of low-quality images received by scanning of damaged, shabby, and faded hard copies.
